Pakistan Textiles Testing Foundation

Pakistan Textiles Exporters Association, Faisalabad, (PTEA) set up a state-of-the-art textile testing laboratory with help of  Federal Ministry of Commerce & Industry who sanctioned funds for import equipments . PTEA imported latest equipments from SDL-ATLAS UK & USA and installed it on 1st floor of PTEA building which is located in the heart of the city . To manage the lab , a company under the name of Pakistan Textile Testing Foundation (P.T.T.F) is formed. The Board of Directors includes a Director from Export Promotion Beauro to ensure the company remains an independent and neutral institution.

The lab houses testing facilities for dimensional stability of fabrics and garments for colorfastness to washing , dry cleaning , for fabric performance such as Textile , tearing , bursting and seam strength , seam slippage , abrasion and pilling resistance , air permeability ,water repellency etc. Highly expensive testing machine like Shirley flammability, Ci 3000 + weather-o-meter are also installed . A highly advance air conditioner with built in cooling and humidification system maintain 20 + 2% degree centigrade temperature and 65 + 2% relative humidity .

The lab is under process of accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025 from PNAC Islamabad. PTTF has entered into an agreement with SGS to supervise the Lab management. This has enhanced recognition of Lab at International level.
